Emptiness
감정적인 면이 아무리 복잡하다 해도’희로애락애오욕’ 일곱 가지 외에 별 게 없습니다.
그 일곱 가지를 가지고 그렇게 조화를 부리는 것입니다.
많지도 않은 것 가지고 그렇게 번잡합니다.
No matter how complicated your emotions are,
nothing more exists outside of the Seven Emotions;
joy, anger, sorrow, pleasure, love, hatred and desires.
The 7 makes such complicated changes.
From such few emotions, things get all mixed up and complicated.
생각도 그렇습니다.
사람들이 근본적으로 생각해야 할 것은 생로병사 외에는 없습니다.
그것도 자나깨나 그 생각을 해야 되는 것이 아닙니다.
평소에는 텅 비어 있다가 누가 와서 얘기를 한다거나 관련된 책을 본다거나
일을 하면서 뭔가 부딪힘이 있을 때, 그때 생각하면 되는 겁니다.
Thinking is the same.
Things people should fundamentally focus on are nothing other than
“birth, aging, illness and death.”
Even so, it doesn’t mean to think of them all the time.
In ordinary life, you should just stay empty,
but when confrontation erupts and someone comes and talks to you,
or when reading a book of interest, then think about it at that time.
마음도 마찬가지입니다.
평소에는 비어 있다가 부딪힘이 있을 때 반응해서 끌어내면 되는 건데,
늘 자나깨나 그득하게 감정을 담고 있습니다.
그걸 비우십시오.
The mind is also the same.
Leave it empty at all times and when conflict develops,
pull out a solution in response.
However, you are always filled up with certain emotions.
Please empty them.
